DRIVER EDUCATION AND THE 190E
Normally,
when I go to the track, there is never any time to take pictures (or anyone to
do it for that matter) so I don't always get pictures to post on my website.
This particular event was sponsored by the Porsche Club of America (PCA).
These
pictures are taken from the stands right close to turn 9 at SIR. While not
the greatest collection of pictures, catching a good shot of a car going 120 mph
is not always easy
This
happens to be about the best picture out of the lot. It is always fun
driving with the PCA club. Normally when I drive my Corvette with these
guys, I can lap almost every car there at least once but with the 190E, its not
the slowest car on the track but its no match for the TT 911's and 944 Turbo's.
One
thing positive that I can say is that the 190 is pretty much sorted out
suspension wise (would like some stiffer progressive rate springs though) and
its very easy to push the Kuhmo tires past their adhesion limit.
The chassis is stiff and the handling is very neutral now with the sway bars and
chassis stiffening bars.
