In
my quest for more power, I purchased this Brabus M103 head/cam package.
I picked it up very cheap and even with shipping from Germany, it was
still a very good deal. This is a Brabus rebuilt core head, Brabus
has installed new rockers, valves, heavy duty valve springs,
ported/polished the intake/exhaust ports, decked the head to increase
compression and installed one of their performance camshafts. I
don't have all the details of what Brabus has done to this head and of
course Brabus is not very corporative with providing information.
The Brabus part # is 02041/9909-0

This is another close up shot of the head! Check out those springs!

Here is a picture of the the intake ports and
you can see the port/polish

This picture shows the exhaust ports and the
port/polish

The new valves. Also, the hydraulic lifters have been replaced with
mechanical lifters.
This
is a new OE Mercedes camshaft oiler that came with the head.

The newest edition to the Brabus project, a authentic Brabus 3.6 valve
cover

The cover needed a bit of clean up and from years of use, there was chips
and scratches. To top it off, the color was kind of a orange/red, so
I cleaned up the head, prepped it and painted it a darker more brilliant
red. Also, the Brabus 3.6 logo is cut into the top of the valve
cover and normally left unfinished (see first Brabus cover picture) the
logo has a tendency over time to tarnish and it ends up looking rather
poor, so after I painted the cover, I painted the recessed logo black.
IMO this looks much better.
