NOTE: A basic assumption made is that
your vehicle has a sunroof. If it does not or you
own a R107 convertible, you may not have a switched 12 volt
power source readily available in the map light area.
Please be aware that additional wiring may be necessary
in these scenarios. This situation is not covered
in the installation guide.
The mirrors
shown here are not compatible with the W124 cabriolet.

Mercedes W124/W201 Auto Dim
With Homelink & Compass |
This is the 260e/300e/400e/500e & 190e
mirror. The mounting stalk for both the
W124 & W201 are the same. Wiring is
internal to the mirror/stalk and replicates the
OEM look of the original non-auto dimming
mirror.
Compass illumination is blue and dims when the
mirror dims. The compass can not be turned
off nor can the color be changed. Three
Homelink buttons allow control of multiple
garage door/gate systems

The glass on this mirror is two-way, so a V1
remote display can be mounted in this mirror for
a nominal fee.

This is a "no frills" model. It only has
auto dimming, no compass or Homelink. This
mirror also includes a button to turn the auto
dimming function on or off. The green
light indicates auto dimming is turned on.

Mercedes W123/R107 Auto Dim With
Homelink & Compass

This is the 200-300CD/560SL mirror.
The mounting stalk is specific for the W123/R107
chassis, but it may of been used on other
models. Wiring is internal to the
mirror/stalk and replicates the OEM look of the
original non-auto dimming mirror.
This
mirror shape is a little different than what is
used in the R107, it is thinner and longer.
R107 owners have not reported any visibility
issues with this design.
Compass
illumination is blue and dims with the mirror
dims. The compass can not be turned off
nor can the color be changed. |

Mercedes W124/W201 Auto Dim Mirror With
Homelink

This is the W124/W201 mirror. This
design utilizes a factory Mercedes
auto dimming mirror. The stalk mounting
location is on the top, which requires
additional trimming of the original W124/W201
stalk to get a proper fit. Wiring is
internal to the mirror/stalk.
This was a early design which has been
discontinued due to the availability of mirrors
that have a rear stalk mounting location.
I still use this mirror for W124 cabriolet
conversions. Contact me for more

BMW 1995 M5 Auto Dim Mirror With Homelink &
Compass (E34)

This was a custom order for a 1995 M5.
This vehicle did not have a auto dimming mirror
originally, so I modified one of my mirrors to
use the OE BMW stalk.
The original
mirror had a alarm receiver inside of it (see
last picture) and under normal conditions, I
would of installed this inside of the new
mirror. In this case, the alarm receiver
would not fit because of the Homelink controls,
so it was relocated outside of the mirror and
mounted in the headliner. |

This was a optional item you could purchase
through your dealer. It was an auto
dimming only mirror. As you can see from
the pictures, this OE mirror design changed over
time.
I do not sell these and they
are extremely difficult to find used. As
for buying them new, they are no longer
available through Mercedes. |

Mercedes Homelink Accessory Lighting
Package
|
With
this accessory lighting kit, you can use your
extra Homelink buttons to turn on/off lights or
other small accessories in your home or garage.
The kit consists of a master home controller,
vehicle interface and lamp module. The
lamp module accepts a two prong plug (not three)
and is not intended for halogen or
fluorescent lights.
